We currently have eleven freeware applications available for Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000/XP:

If "free" is what brought you here, we also hope you take a look at our shareware utilities. The downloads are free and you'll find that all our programs safely install on your system without "messing up" your setup or putting stray files in your Windows or System subdirectories.

FS ZIP Extractor

Funduc Software ZIP Extractor allows you to create "self-extracting .zip archives" that are run as an .exe. The Funduc Software ZIP Extractor allows you to share your zips with other users who might not have unZIP software installed on their machine. Please see the FS Zip Extractor page for more information.
If you are in possession of a .zip file and are looking for something to unzip it with, you need Directory Toolkit. FS ZIP Extractor is used to make self-extracting zip archives. A self-extracting archive has a file name that ends with the .exe extension.
FS ZIP Extractor is for 32 bit Windows.

Decode Shell Extension (Version 4.6 - July 2002) allows you to decode Internet email attachments simply by right-clicking on a saved message file from Explorer and selecting Decode from the menu. Decode Shell Extension is for 32 bit Windows. It will not work on x64 platforms.
Please see the Decode Shell Extension FAQ for instructions on using the program and suggestions for problem attachments. You will also find detailed instructions for America OnLine mail. We ask that you please do not write us for technical support with problem attachment without having first reviewed the FAQ! Thank you!
Decode Shell Extension supports multiple attachments, multi-part files (already concatenated), Base64(MIME), yEnc, BinHex (Mac format), quoted-printable, plain text, XXENCODED, and User (table) encoded files. Support for yEnc is new to version 4.6. If the attachment contains only one file, Decode Shell Extension will offer to open it using either the associated program or Notepad. For virus safety reasons, Decode Shell Extension will not offer to launch .exe, .com, .bat, & .cmd files. If you are concerned about macro viruses, you should also scan decoded Word and Excel files with your anti-virus checker before loading them.

This is our most popular freeware utility and we're very happy that so many of you find it useful. If you need ongoing customer support or the ability to encode files, look over our shareware products Funduc Explorer Extensions or Directory Toolkit. Funduc Explorer Extensions is for those who need some of the functions of Directory Toolkit (Decode, Encode, Split, Concatenate, Touch) but who don't need the directory comparison or ZIP functions.
Decode Shell Extension can be downloaded in two formats: a self-installing .exe and ZIP format. Both are the same program. We suggest you use the self-installer. Please see the install instructions in the Decode Shell Extension FAQ for more details on installation.

DupBlock is a text duplication utility that generates blocks of text that are alike except for one or more sequenced variables. You supply the default text section to be repeated and specify variable names in the positions where a variable is to be used. You then define the variables, which can be counter or list variables. Specify the number of iterations to perform and then generate the duplication. Depending on your needs this may be faster than copy/pasting text manually in a text editor and then doing tedious manual edits.

TZAdjust is a freeware product we created for users who find it necessary to make manual changes to the time zone and 'day light savings' offset parameters for their Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000/XP computers. TZAdjust is probably of greatest interest to Windows NT-class users. The NT/2000/XP OS returns time information as an offset from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and TZAdjust allows you to adjust the bias associated with your time zone and daylight savings adjustment. Do not use TZAdjust if you are not familiar with the effects of adjusting these OS parameters. See the TZAdjust page and an information page on Reported File Times for more information.

Count Characters

Count Characters allows you dump the contents of various combo, edit, list boxes, static, and button fields to the clipboard. The program can also reveal the plain text counterpart to some Windows password edit fields. Count Characters can come in handy for browser lists and various items displayed by other applications to which you otherwise have no access. For example if some site asks you to only enter a certain amount of data in their fields but don't tell you that you went over until it's too late, Count Characters can be helpful.
Count Characters is also interesting showing you a little about how applications are built. The Count Characters dialog, for example, displays what type of controls are being used by a program.
The dialog is maximizeable & minimizable and you can use Ctrl+C to put the name of the control followed by the contents of the control into the clipboard. count of the number of words being put into the clipboard.

Limit Edit

An outgrowth of Count Characters, Limit Edit (screen shot) expands upon the built-in limit feature for edit boxes and rich edit controls by letting you set your own maximum size settings for the amount of text permitted in edit boxes and rich edit controls. For example, you could use Limit Edit to set a limit on the amount of text allowed in an instance of the Notepad text editor. Like Count Characters, the Limit Edit dialog also displays interesting information about the types of controls in use by a program. Although Limit Edit is intended to work with edit boxes and rich edit controls only, it may also work on some other controls that are subclasses of these.

The Search and Replace Regular Expression Wizard is a freeware complement to our Search and Replace program. The "Wizard" is used to help you learn about the grep regular expression features of Search and Replace. The program uses a color coded display to show the effect of regular expression operators in the context of a sample text that you supply. The Wizard can also be used to help you debug complex expressions.
"Regular Expressions" are special characters and operators that allow the program to find strings in a file(s) when the text varies. For example, if you wanted to file the "title" text in some html files, a regular expression search term such as <title>*[]</title> would work. Special regular expression replacement operators are also available.

Word Search and Replace is a freeware macro for Microsoft Word. This macro uses the search and replace functions built-in to Microsoft Word to perform search-replace on one or more Word .doc files. It can also be used on other file formats understood by your Word installation.

Word SR is for Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000/ME. It was developed and tested on Office 2000. The macro may not work properly on some Word 97 installations. Please test first on not production files. Of course always keep backups no matter what Office version you are using!!
A companion to 'WordSR', Excel Search and Replace does search (and replaces) in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Excel SR is for Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000/XP. It was developed and tested on Office 2000.

Synchronize Script Editor
The Folder Synchronize Script Editor is an little app we prepared to help with editing and creating scripts for Folder Synchronize and Directory Toolkit. Script functions can be selected from choices available - no need to remember the names of the various script switches.

HexView is a multiple document Hexadecimal viewer with drag n drop functionality that can display, print, and print preview any file as a hex dump. HexView was created as a supplement to our utility, Search and Replace. However, it is a standalone application and it does not require Search and Replace. A Japanese version is also available.
